These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Chaptr (the "Service"), operated by Chaptr ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Description of Service

Chaptr is an AI-powered career planning platform that provides personalized career path recommendations, job matching from aggregated sources, an AI career advisor, and related tools to help users explore and pursue career opportunities.

2. Accounts

You must create an account to access the full Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old to use the Service.

3. Subscription Plans and Billing

Chaptr offers the following plans:

• Free: Limited access to career assessment, AI-generated paths, and dashboard overview. No credit card required.
• Monthly ($19/month): Full access to all features including personalized weekly actions, job opportunity matching, AI career advisor, resume builder, and salary tools. Billed monthly. Cancel anytime.
• Yearly ($149/year): All Monthly features at a 35% discount. Billed annually.

Payments are processed securely through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:

• Your access continues until the end of your current billing period.
• No partial refunds are provided for unused time in a billing period.
• Annual subscribers may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase if they have not substantially used the paid features.
• After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan.

5. AI-Generated Content

Our Service uses artificial intelligence to generate career recommendations, job matches, and advice. Important disclaimers:

• AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and should not be considered professional career counseling, legal, medical, or financial advice.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of salary estimates, job availability, or career outcome predictions.
• Career decisions should be made using your own judgment and, when appropriate, consultation with qualified professionals.
• AI responses may occasionally contain errors or outdated information.

6. Job Listings

Job listings displayed in Chaptr are aggregated from third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or legitimacy of any job listing. We are not a recruitment agency and do not employ or represent any employers listed.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Submit false or misleading information
• Attempt to access other users' data
• Use automated systems to scrape or extract data from the Service
• Interfere with the operation of the Service

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and content, is owned by Chaptr. Your profile data and uploaded resumes remain your property. By using the Service, you grant us a license to process your data to provide the Service.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chaptr is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to career decisions made based on AI-generated recommendations.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI recommendations will lead to specific career outcomes.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
